The 1869 log house is restored and furnished with period pieces. Recreational opportunities here include hiking, canoeing and kayaking, fishing, geocaching, and picnicking. Nature-related activities and programs are held regularly.The Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge is also well worth a visit when you are RV camping at Destiny RV Resort. The center recreates the area as it was in the early 20th century and features forests, prairies, and wetlands. It was recognized with the Lone Star Land Steward award by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The Hardwicke Interpretive Center features exhibits, information, and programs. There is an extensive trail system with a downloadable map. Guided and self-guided tours are available.
