Experience the great outdoors and a great sense of community when you visit the Ray Roberts Lake State Park with your Denton rental motorhome. The park is named for the 29,000-acre Ray Roberts Lake, which offers swimming beaches, two marinas, and a fishing pier with a fish cleaning station. Boats, motors, jet skis, and kayaks are available for rent. There is an extensive trail system with an interactive trail map. Other recreational activities include hiking, biking, horseback riding, rollerblading, geocaching, nature viewing and photography, and much more.You can also visit the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area and Nature Preserve when you camp in an RV near Denton. The area features multiple habitats such as prairies, forests, gardens, and aquatics. The visitor center is open on weekends and offers information, restrooms, and water and coffee. The 1869 log house is restored and furnished with period pieces. Recreational opportunities here include hiking, canoeing and kayaking, fishing, geocaching, and picnicking. Nature-related activities and programs are held regularly.The Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge is also well worth a visit when you are RV camping at Destiny RV Resort. The center recreates the area as it was in the early 20th century and features forests, prairies, and wetlands. It was recognized with the Lone Star Land Steward award by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The Hardwicke Interpretive Center features exhibits, information, and programs. There is an extensive trail system with a downloadable map. Guided and self-guided tours are available.
